Local nominees for RSPB Awards

The region’s environmental efforts have been recognised in the shortlist for the RSPB’s 2015 Nature of Scotland Awards.

The shortlist for the fourth annual awards represents a cross section of businesses, charities, the public sector and individuals who have been working towards conserving the country’s unique wildlife and natural environment.

SNP MSP Paul Wheelhouse, of Ayton, is nominated in the Politician of the Year category, along with Lothians Scottish Labour MSP Sarah Boyack.

And the Belhaven High School Conservation Club have been nominated in the Youth and Education category.
