Lightning strike roof fire in Lauder

A roof went on fire after the house in Lauder was struck by lightening on Sunday afternoon.

Fire fighters from Lauder and Galashiels fought the blaze at the two-storey home in Thirlestane Drive after receiving a call around 5pm.

Officers said the strike affected the electrical wiring throughout the property.

And they had asked Scottish Power to isolate the power before carrying out salvage work including sealing holes in the roof.
