Lavender Touch offering up a year of trivia with charity calendar
Tweedbank-based cancer care charity the Lavender Touch’s latest fundraising initiative, a fact-filled charity calender, is now on sale,
Trustee Sheila Scott, pictured above with , Shona Wilson, Alex Moffat and Jan Beattie, said: The calendar is something we have put together ourselves as a fundraiser for the charity. It contains 366 + facts and pieces of trivia mostly relating to the Borders...one for each day of the 2020 leap year.
“We hope people in the Borders and folk from the area will enjoy it.”
The calendar, costing £6.50, is available online through the charity’s website, www.lavendertouch.co.uk or from WH Smith in Channel Street, Galashiels, Hector Innes photographer in Kelso, or the visitor centre at Abbotsford House, near Melrose.
The charity’s Christmas shop is currently open at No 2 Channel Street in Galashiels for the next five weeks in the run up to Christmas. It is manned entirely by volunteers and sells its own range of natural therapeutic products and sleepwear created to provide comfort and relief to those suffering from the side-effects of cancer treatments.
Other gifts on sale include good-as-new adult and children’s partywear, ball gowns, accessories and jewellery, toys and books, and a full range of handmade crafts, baking and giftware.
