Robert Young, pictured with his red setter Max, is holding an open evening on Wednesday, April 18, from 7.30pm to 9pm, at his Inch Road surgery, where pet owners can receive advice on preventative healthcare from veterinary professionals.

There will also be a guided tour of the practice facilities, including the kennels and operating theatre, which are not normally open to the public.

Robert said: “Fleas, ticks and parasites flourish in warm-weather conditions, resulting in a surge of problems for cats and dogs during the summer. If left untreated, pets can become agitated, develop skin allergies and transmit other parasites such as tapeworm. Some form of parasites, such as roundworm, can also be passed on to humans and in severe cases can lead to blindness.”
