Kelso pupils' work of fictional characters
Kelso High School celebrated reading all across the school on World Book Day (WBD).
Colourful posters adorned classroom doors, highlighting each teacher’s favourite childhood
series of books.
In the inter-house World Book Day Quiz, Teviot snatched victory in a closely-fought contest from Kale and Bowmont, and the S1 WBD Quiz saw Alice Rea and Suzanna Robson crowned champions.
The S6 pupils really entered into the WBD spirit by coming to school dressed as characters from an extremely varied and interesting selection of books.
S6 fancy dress competition results – individual – 1, The Watchman (Gavin Wilson-Green); 2, The Hunt for Red October (Zak Leifer); 3, The 100-Year- Old-Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared (Andrew Martin).
Group – 1, The Mister Men (Dan Cormack, Robbie McKinley, Callum Norris, Ewan Paul); 2, Adam & Eve (Katie Millar and Sophie Aitchison); 3, Gandalf and Frodo (Angus Johnstone and Cameron Mowat).
The school’s celebration of WBD ended with S6 pupils visiting classrooms, reading an extract from their chosen book and distributing WBD book tokens.
