Berwick coastguard officers and Berwick inshore lifeboat were alerted and attended. The lifeboat crew arrived as the kayaker was getting out of the water. They provided assistance and helped the fellow kayaker back to shore too where the pair were met by the coastguard.

The pair were both unharmed and did not require medical attention.
