Jedburgh Rotarians – club president Steve Smith is fifth from the left – have completed the annual clean-up along the banks of the Jed.
At the latest club meeting, Karen Nairn from Radio Borders spoke about the work she does to raise money for the Cash for Kids charity. Any cash raised locally is used entirely to support children in the Borders and north Northumbria. She said a distressingly-large number of children have needs caused by poverty, abuse, neglect, disability and illness, among other problems. They are referred for help by professionals such as social work, GPs and teachers.
Half of the money raised by Jedburgh Rotary Club’s sponsored walk on May 25 will go to the charity.
