JEDBURGH pool managers have won a grant for expansion at the town’s pool and fitness centre.
Last week, Scottish Borders councillors gave the go-ahead to plans by Jedburgh Leisure Facilities Trust (JLFT) to extend its seating social area and the trust plan also to expand the fitness centre and create disabled and family changing rooms.
This week, JLFT revealed it has been given more than £170,000 for the expansion, expected to cost £190,000.
The LEADER money from the European Union and Scottish Government will cover 90 per cent of the costs of the building works and fitting out.
JLFT chairman Len Wyse said: “This is very good news for the Laidlaw Memorial Pool. As well as giving us more space, it will provide a foundation for other planned improvements to the changing rooms and swimming pool”
