Five Explorer Scouts from the Borders are currently attending the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Kristianstad, Sweden.
Robert Bathgate and Michael Fox from Galashiels, Jack Wilson (Kelso), Josh Moloney (Earlston) and Edward Growden (Hawick) have been preparing for the trip for nearly two years and are part of the south-east of Scotland contingent of 27 Scouts and nine Guides.
The party flew to Copenhagen and spent three days there before travelling to the jamboree site last week. Almost 40,000 Scouts from 150 countries have gathered outside Kristianstad in the south of Sweden for an international event which began in 1920 and is held every four years.
At the event, which continues until Monday, the Scouts are taking part in typical Swedish camping activities and experiencing Scandinavian food and culture. Among VIP guests have been the King and Queen of Sweden.
When the jamboree closes, the Borders Scouts will travel to Holland where they will stay for a few days with the families of Dutch Scouts.
