NHS Borders is this week celebrating the achievements of its nursing and midwifery staff as part of Nurses’ Week.
The seven-day celebration began with International Midwives’ Day last Saturday followed by Nurses’ Day on May 6, culminating this Saturday, May 12, the birthday of the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale.
Sheena Wright, director of nursing and midwifery for NHS Borders, said: “The profession offers many opportunities in a variety of settings.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank staff for their hard work, their continual efforts to improve services, and their enthusiasm for taking forward new and innovative ways of working.”
NHS Borders nursing and midwifery staff have been involved in a number of projects to improve health care in the Borders.
