MEDICAL charity Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland has launched a new year appeal for volunteers in the Borders.
The charity funds medical research and provides a local services for patients and their families.
There are seven volunteer stroke action groups across the Borders who need helpers, including the charity’s shop in Peebles.
A spokeswoman said : “Volunteering gives people the opportunity to learn new skills, meet people and work as part of a team. It is an opportunity to work towards a heathlier Scotland – and have some enjoyment.”
