A woman has been placed on night-time home curfew for the next six months after she admitted assaulting two police officers during a disturbance last month.

Lisa McGowan, 24, of Ramsay Road, Hawick, pleaded guilty to biting a constable’s wrist, kicking him in the groin and headbutting him to the chest to his injury.

She also admitted scratching another officer’s arm to his injury and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told those offences were committed in Northcote Street in Hawick in July.

McGowan was given a restriction-of-liberty order keeping her in her home between the hours of 9pm and 7am as an alternative to custody.
