Hawick Music Live! presents violin and accordion music, AdLibitum, by Andrea and Djordje Gajic at Heart of Hawick on Sunday November 17 at 2.30pm.

The duo will present a varied and balanced programme, based on folk songs and dances.

Music styles range from a Bach Sonata E minor to Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy, with a line-up including Massenet’s evocative Meditation, and a foray into Latin America with Le Grand Tango by Piazzolla and Gubaidulina.

Andrea began her musical training at St Mary’s Music School, Edinburgh, and continued at the Russian Gnesins Academy of Music. Djordje started his musical studies in his native Serbia and graduated from the Russian Academy of Music in 1993. Both now teach at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Hawick Music Live’s Gordon Macdonald said: “These are two exceptional musicians, who will create a dazzling Sunday afternoon concert. Popular music played by an unusual duo – one not to be missed!”

Tickets are £10, (students £2), available on 01450 360688, or at Visit Scotland, Box Office, Tower Mill, Hawick.
