irish singer songwriter Kieran Halpin will help launch St Boswells’ new music club on Friday, April 22.
The first show of St Boswells Live! will see 10-year-old fiddle prodigy Eryn Rae and The Grahams provide support for Kieran, with an open mic slot fitted into the evening.
Kieran, top of page, who lives in Selkirk, arrives in St Boswells after his Around Round the World in 80 Days tour which ends in Germany this weekend and included shows in the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand.
His songs have been covered by artists such as Ilse De Lange, Vin Garbutt, Dolores Keane, Tom McConville, Niamh Parsons, The Battlefield Band and Flossie.
He released his 19th album two years ago featuring a song he wrote for his late friend John Wright.
Eryn Rae lives just outside Jedburgh and has been described as “an amazing fiddler” and “outrageous talent”.
Alongside Eryn will be Graham Dolan, who has played guitar across the Borders during a long music career which includes spells with rock band Experience! and the Edinburgh Shetland Fiddlers.
Graham Blanche from Paxton will be on bass, having been a regular pub session musician across the region.
St Boswells Live! kicks off in the village hall at 7.45pm - tickets priced at £8 (£4 under 12s) available from the village post office (tel: 01835 822692).
