Good work surfacing

In the final week of last year, I reported a broken-up stretch of the A68 just north of Lauder to Amey via its website.

I suspect others complained about this too because Amey’s workers and sub-contractors have now completely resurfaced that section to a good standard with a smooth, quiet surface. Well done to all concerned.

The resurfacing here (and at Carfraemill roundabout) shows what this important trunk road could be like given funding to resurface it in its entirety. Amey certainly seems more proactive than its predecessor, BEAR, and could do an excellent job in this respect.

From Carter Bar to the Edinburgh city by-pass on a smooth, quiet road. Imagine that!
