BEWARE of going out after dark in Newtown St Boswells this weekend, for you never know who you might meet!
For this weekend sees the fifth annual Ghost Walk in the village to mark Halloween.
Several hundred parents and youngsters are expected to turn out for the event, which starts at 6pm on Saturday at Newtown Primary School.
The event involves a walk of a short distance (wellies essential) – complete with fireball display – before ending up in the sale ring at John Swan’s mart for spooky tales from Border folklore.
The walk is organised by local people, who make and buy all their own costumes. Admission costs just £1 per head
Sandy Bell is pictured at the mart, preparing for Saturday night’s eerie event.
