GAOS set for singalong to aid local charity

GALASHIELS Amateur Operatic Society are preparing for their 2012 production – as well as a ‘sing out’ for the benefit of a local charity.

Sing Out for The Lavender Touch will be staged in the Volunteer Hall from Wednesday, November 16 to Friday, November 18 with a mixture of well-known songs both old and new.

The charity aims to provide complimentary therapy to cancer patients throughout the Borders.

The first concert rehearsal will be held in the Burgh Primary School, Galashiels on Wednesday, September 7 at 7pm.

Meanwhile, the society will perform Seven Brides for Seven Brothers in the first week of March next year, a very different show from this year’s production Jesus Christ Superstar.

The first rehearsal is this Monday at 7pm, again in the Burgh School.

Tickets for both events will be advertised at a later date.
