Gala Rotarians learn about Philippines project

Galashiels Rotarians heard feedback from some of the team who went out from the Rotary Club of Selkirk, and two from the Hawick club, to the Philippines to see for themselves how money raised by Rotary was spent.

Each of the representatives put their own slant on what they had seen and done.

It was moving to hear about the improvements made to the dormitories in an orphanage and the new toilet block at a primary school. Work on a new well had an added gain of a teenager’s need for a wheelchair to be identified and purchased.
