Road safety for horse riders and drivers is the subject of a free meeting at St Boswells next Tuesday (October 21)
The demonstrations, videos and talks at the Salmon Room in the Buccleuch Hotel have been organised by the Borders branch of the British Horse Society.
The branch’s Polly Fraser said: “The aim of the evening is to raise awareness of all road users of how to be safe on the roads when horses are involved.
“We have made the evening free entry because we don’t want to restrict anyone from coming and there is a free goody bag containing a Hi viz vest, vet wrap and stickers for the first 100 people through the door.
We have also have a quality raffle and free refreshments.
“The evening will open with a brief discussion of some eye opening and sobering statistics about horses and other road users.
“It will be followed by representatives from the local emergency forces, a member of a Facebook road awareness group and finally a talk from one of the local vets ending with a light quiz and prizes.
“We hope all ages will come - parents, children, riders and drivers.”
The event starts at 7.30pm
