Residents in Hawick and Jedburgh will this month be given information on the food waste collection service being introduced to both towns.

Four roadshow dates will be held – August 18: 3.30-6.30pm, Parkside Primary, Jedburgh; August 19: 5-7pm, Morrisons, Hawick; August 22, 10am-noon, Heart of Hawick; and 2-4pm, Royal British Legion, Jedburgh.

Councillor David Paterson, SBC’s executive member for environmental services, said: “These roadshow dates will provide members of the public the chance to ask questions and hear how easy it is to use.”

And Andy Dick, local authority manager, Zero Waste Scotland – pictured, right, with Mr Paterson – said: “The new services will help cut the amount of food going needlessly to landfill.”
