Fi’s foraging journey

The Tweeddale Society’s Charles Morrison Memorial Lecture will be enjoying the wild harvest of Tweeddale, with forager and food writer Fi Martynoga from Traquair.

“If you dream of being more connected to the landscape and all the bounty it can provide, Fi will inspire you to get started or to discover new species,” writes the Eastgate’s Liz Taylor. “Her illustrated talk will take you on a journey through hedgerows, woodlands, and through time.”

In 2005, Fi spent a year living as if she were in the 18th century.

In 2012 she produced A Handbook of Scotland’s Wild Harvests, charting what is readily available around us, not just for eating and drinking but for craft materials, dyestuffs, home remedies, firewood and much more.

Her talk, at Peebles’ Eastgate Theatre on Tuesday February 11, is at 7.30pm, costs £6. Members free.
