Enforcement just the ticket

Further to the Selkirk parking ticket blitz which you reported last week, I would suggest that if the 30-minute maximum-stay regulation was enforced in respect of the current parking space available, that would help alleviate the problem.

As it is, vehicles park all day in the 30-minute zone and are not targeted – some of the shopkeepers and local businesses are the worst culprits. In the Market Place, one liveried company vehicle sits for hours on end, taking up space which should be used for short stops.

Enforcement of existing regulations would go a long way to solving the parking issues.
