Eastgate continues with Imaginarium fun

THE Eastgate Theatre’s new children’s festival - The Imaginarium - continues this week, with stand-up comedian James Campbell on the Peebles’ venue’s stage tonight (Thursday).

Over the last 14 years, he has performed to more than 1,500 schools and festivals all over the world and has appeared on a number of BBC TV shows.

Tomorrow sees a Scottish Youth Theatre masterclass on playwriting with BAFTA award-winning writer David Cosgrove.

Festival director Clare Prenton said: “David has extensive writing credits for theatre, radio, and television, with his most recent series – Uncle Dad – winning a Lloyds TSB BAFTA Award for Best Children’s Television.”

Also on Friday, Catherine Wheels Theatre Company brings its acclaimed play The Ballad of Pondlife McGurk to the theatre following a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival. Other highlights are meet-the-author workshops, including Lari Don.
