Dulcimer tones

THE little known mountain dulcimer will be heard at the Rolling Hills Folk Club’s fifth birthday celebrations tomorrow evening.

Stonehouse Music pair Liz Law and Terry Conway perform both traditional Northumberland songs and self-penned efforts.

Liz has played mountain dulcimer – a fretted string instrument – for many years, both as a solo musician, and in duos and bands. Terry has a large repertoire of English, Scottish and Irish traditional songs and has recorded a BBC Radio 3 programme on Border Ballads with Rae Fisher.

Tickets for tomorrow’s 8.30pm gig in Melrose’s George and Abbotsford Hotel are priced at £6 (£5 concessions or free for students and YoungScot card holders).
