This month members were able to see how to make chocolates in their own kitchen look almost as good as those from the commercial chocolate box. The next meeting is on November 14 (7pm) in the village hall, featuring a demonstration on floral art with music , plus the AGM. Two office bearers have indicated their intention to stand down.


Coffee morning

The next coffee morning and sale in aid of hall funds will take place on November 22 in the village hall (10am-noon). Anyone with something to sell is welcome to turn up, take a table and give a small donation to hall funds.


A concert featuring Kieran Halpin will be held on November 16. Tickets from Linda (01750 52257). The event is in aid of hall funds.

Interest evening

The next interest evening will be held in Kirkhope Parish Hall on October 31 (7.30pm), featuring a talk aimed at individuals who are managing their own care at home.


Coffee morning

A coffee morning held by QubeGB Ltd of Wilderhaugh as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – raised £230.

Yetholm’s Got Talent

A fun night was enjoyed in the Wauchope Hall to raise money for the village Festival Week. Zoe Keddie had put in much hard work to get the acts together, and also organised the judges and disco. Winner for the evening was singer Pam Whittaker from Yetholm. This was the first event of its kind in the village and there is enthusiasm to see it repeated next year.

Art exhibition

This Kelso Art Group-organised event ended at the weekend, with the artists getting together to tidy up and have a sandwich lunch. Sales of pictures were encouraging and £440 was raised for the village defibrillator appeal.


A Halloween party will be held at the Plough Hotel on November 1 from 8 pm. Those wearing costumes will qualify for goodies and there’s a disco provided by Zap.

Bonfire night

The bonfire and firework night is on November 5. A torchlight procession will leave Town Yetholm Green at 6pm, making its way to the Playing Field. The event is being organised by Yetholm Community Council and collecting boxes for donations can be found at various village locations.
