Witnesses sought following Lauder Co-op break-in

Police are requesting the assistance from members of the public following a break-in to the CO-OP Store and Service Station, Edinburgh Road, Lauder.

During the early hours (3.08am) of Wednesday, August 10, the premises was targeted by thieves who forced entry and stole three bottles of alcohol.

Witnesses have described the two suspects as approximately 18-25 years old, wearing dark-coloured tops with their hoods up and tracksuit bottoms.

The two suspects were last seen heading off in the direction of Harryburn Road, Lauder.

Over the past few months these premises, as well as other Co-op stores across the Scottish Borders, have been targeted and police are asking shop owners and members of the public to be extra vigilant.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at this time, or who has any information which could lead to the identification of those responsible, or anyone who has information pertaining to the other Co-op premises being targeted.
