Adamson also faces a charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Those allegations follows an incident in Hillview in Coldstream on Tuesday resulting in a 37-year-old man being left injured.

All three men, all now living in Coldstream though Fairbairn and Kirsopp are both formerly of Kelso, made no plea, and the case was continued for further examination.

Bail was refused by sheriff John Cook and they were remanded in custody until their next court appearance.
