‘Sickening’ attack on a cat

A probe has been launched after a cat was shot with an air weapon in Walkerburn.

In what has been described as a “sickening act” the 12-year-old pet suffered life-changing injuries.

Found by its owners lying in Peebles Road the incident happened between 9pm on Wednesday, November 25 and 6.30am on Thursday, November 26.

Constable Scott McIntosh, from Peebles Police Station. said: “This was a sickening act, which has left the cat in a serious condition. Our thoughts are with the family at this time and we are carrying out enquiries.” Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 1133 of 26 November 2020.
