Asda's supermarket in Galashiels.

Paul Crow, of Buccleuch Road in Selkirk, pleaded guilty to committing that theft at Asda in Galashiels on August 8.

Fiona Hamilton, prosecuting, told Selkirk Sheriff Court that a member of staff noticed the 44-year-old walking out of the Currie Road store with the television, valued at £379, and he was confronted in its car park and handed it back over.

Sheriff Raymond McMenamin told Crowe he was giving him a chance by deferring sentence for good behaviour until June 29 but warned him of the repercussions if there is any further offending in the meantime.
