Sentencing of William Anderson, 35, was previously deferred at Jedburgh Sheriff Court for the production of a criminal justice social work report and restriction-of-liberty order assessment.

He had pleaded guilty to ownership of images depicting in an explicit and realistic way sexual contact between adults and animals, sexual contact between children and animals, extreme sexual violence, animal and human torture, mutilation of male and female genitalia, child rape and defecation.

That offence was committed at his home in Glebe Road in Duns between May 28, 2018, and May 1, 2019.

Anderson also admitted two other charges of possession of indecent photos of children and taking, or permitting to be taken or making, indecent photos of children at his home between June 2018 and May 2019.

When the case called at Edinburgh Sheriff Court this week for sentence, it was further deferred until August 31. Bail was continued.
