Selkirk 45-year-old facing trial on rape charges

A 45-year-old man is facing rape charges involving several alleged victims.

Selkirk’s Brian McGlasson is due to stand trial at the High Court in Glasgow on a date yet to be fixed on 14 offences allegedly committed over a period of years.

They include three charges of assault and rape and another of assault and rape to injury.

McGlasson is accused of indecent assault, sexual assault and attempted rape too.

The indictment also includes two charges of assault to injury, breach of the peace, behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and possession of a controlled class-B drug.

McGlasson faces two further allegations of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

A preliminary hearing has been continued until Thursday, August 27, at the High Court in Glasgow.

Bail was continued for McGlasson until then.
