Peebles drug dealer jailed for 15 months

Gavin Murray, 25, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin at houses in George Terrace and Dalatho Crescent in Peebles between June 8 and November 13.

He also admitted possession of a lock knife in Whitehaugh Park in Peebles on June 8.

In June, a warrant was executed and 12 wraps of diamorphine were found valued between £200 and £250 along with mobile phones and £100 in cash.

On November 13 another search was taken at Murray's home in George Terrace at 8am, with drugs paraphernalia recovered.

Acting on intelligence received they searched a friend's house in Dalatho Crescent and found 60 individual bags of heroin weighing 63 grammes with a value of £3,000.

Defence lawyer Robert More said his client was "at the bottom of the food chain" when it came to drug supplying.

Murray was jailed for 452 days which was back-dated to November 16.
