High court date for assault
A Chirnside man will be sentenced next month on a charge of attempted murder.
Barry Smart, 34, of Crosshill, assaulted a man aged 35 to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement, permanent impairment and danger of life following an incident in the Borders last December.
Sentence has been deferred until December 6 at the High Court in Glasgow for the production of a criminal justice social work report.
