Hawick dog-grooming parlour left trashed by burglars

A Hawick businesswoman faces an uncertain start to the new year after burglars trashed the dog-grooming parlour she runs from her home.

Several items were also stolen in the raid at Grooming 4 Paws, based in Charles Street at Burnfoot.

Owner Lorna Murray is now facing the task of sorting out an insurance claim in a bid to get her business back on its feet as soon as possible.

Her son Nathan Murray took to Facebook to express his dismay at the attack overnight on Sunday.

He said: “During the night, my mum’s business was broken into and got absolutely trashed.

“There were clippers, scissors and other dog-grooming items stolen.

“If anyone has seen or heard anything, could you please let us know.

“Some people try to work hard for a living and then this happens.

“I know someone will know something. We want to catch whoever did this.”

Well-wishers on social media have reacted with dismay and disgust to the raid.

Caroline Parker Anderson said: “It’s disgusting what happened to your mum. I hope they catch the scumbags that did it.”

“I’m so sorry to hear this, Lorna. Some people just can’t see others with anything. Lazy scumbags want everything handed to them for nothing,” added Myra Barclay Evans.

Sharon Turnbull posted: “This is absolutely disgusting. It’s unbelievable someone would do that.”

Police are investigating, and any witnesses are asked to call them on 101.
