Hawick 28-year-old admits police assault, breaching court orders and attempt to pervert course of justice

Background reports have been ordered on a 28-year-old man convicted of seven offences.

Appearing from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week, William Devlin, of Hawick, pleaded guilty to breaching a non-harassment undertaking following the granting of a European protection order.

He also admitted two counts of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, police assault, attempting to pervert the course of justice and two bail offences.

Sentence was deferred until Monday, August 3, at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, and he was released on bail in the meantime.
