Hawick 28-year-old admits breaching bail conditions

A man breached bail conditions by being found on Boxing Day in the home of a woman he was banned from contacting.

William Devlin, of Howdenbank in Hawick, appeared from custody at Jedburgh Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to that offence.

Depute fiscal Fiona Hamilton said police called to an incident in Allars Crescent in Hawick unrelated to Devlin noted his presence and were aware he was not supposed to be there.

After dealing with the incident, they returned and charged Devlin, 28, with breaching bail conditions for being in contact with the woman and also in her home.

Sentence was deferred until January 13.
