Hawick 23-year-old jailed for breaching curfew

Christopher Rodgers was required to remain in his grandparents’ home in Eildon Road in Hawick between the hours of 7pm and 7am after being released on bail with special conditions.

When police officers called on him at 8.45pm on Monday this week to check on his whereabouts, he was not there, however, and he was later found intoxicated elsewhere, Jedburgh Sheriff Court heard.

Sheriff Peter Paterson told Rodgers he had been well warned of the consequences of breaching his curfew, adding that there were circumstances exceptional enough to justify imposing a short-term sentence of four months in prison.
