Procurator fiscal Fraser Matheson said that acting on intelligence received, police obtained a search warrant for Mein's home in June 2019.

He said:"The warrant was executed at 10am on June 28.

"Police entered the property and Mr Mein was within.

"He was detained as a search of the property was carried out.

"A quantity of white substance was found and after being analysed it was found to be the drug amphetamine."

Mr Matheson said officers were satisfied they recovered evidence of drug dealing taking place at the property.

Defence lawyer Robert More said it could be argued that a custodial sentence should be imposed for the offence.

But he believed there were circumstances which would justify an alternative to custody.

Sheriff Peter Paterson deferred sentence until April 6 for the production of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Order assessment.

He told Mein it was a serious offence which would merit custody and said all sentencing options were available at this stage.
