Galashiels man accused of a string of offences refused bail

Derek Stewart – who gave an address in Galashiels – is charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and two counts of being in possession of a bladed article.

He also faces charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice, obstructing police and breaching his bail conditions.

Stewart made no plea and the case was continued for further examination.

Bail was refused during a brief private hearing on Friday and he was remanded in custody until he appears again at Selkirk Sheriff Court this week.
