Paul Ramage, 43, pleaded guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court to committing that domestic-related offence at a house in Talisman Avenue in Galashiels over a four-day period in October.

The court was told his partner had moved out of their home on October 5, but later that day she received persistent telephone calls from his number.

Depute fiscal Fiona Hamilton said some of the text messages and phone calls were abusive in nature and all were unwanted, so eventually the woman contacted the police.

In addition to having to do unpaid work, a non-harassment order for two years was imposed forbidding Ramage from contacting his ex.
