Galashiels 37-year-old ordered to pay £600 compensation to woman he assaulted

Ross McEwen, of Galashiels, was found guilty of assaulting the woman to her injury and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Selkirk Sheriff Court heard that the accused was friendly with the woman’s partner but after an argument ensued he ended up assaulting her.

She was particularly upset and aggrieved at the injuries she sustained, the court heard.

McEwen was admonished on the charge of threatening behaviour but told to pay £600 compensation to the woman for the injuries he caused her.
