Galashiels 36-year-old remanded in custody after admitting assault in Jedburgh

Background reports have been ordered on a man convicted of assault to permanent disfigurement.

Logan MacKenzie, 36, pleaded guilty to committing that offence in Bongate in Jedburgh on Friday, December 27.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court was told his victim suffered a three-centimetre laceration to his cheek, leaving a scar.

Sheriff John Morris deferred sentence on MacKenzie, of King Street in Galashiels, until March 23 and remanded him in custody until then.
