Borders police arrested and charged four people over the weekend for driving over the legal alcohol limit.
On Friday, October 2, a 32-year-old man was arrested in Bridge Street, Galashiels.
On Saturday, October 3, a 36-year-old man was arrested in Stow and a 51-year-old man was arrested in Langlee.
On Sunday, October 4, a 27-year-old man was arrested in Scotts Place, Selkirk.
Inspector Richard Latto of the Road Policing Unit said: “Getting behind the wheel of a car under the influence of alcohol significantly increases the risk of being involved in a road traffic collision and causing serious injury, or even death, to yourself or another road user.
“The reduced alcohol limit was introduced just under a year ago, and road policing officers within the Borders are stopping vehicles every day of the week to ensure our roads remain a safe place to travel.”
