Court hearing for Hawick 38-year-old accused of rape put back to end of August

A preliminary hearing for a man facing four allegations of rape has been continued until Monday, August 31.

Those charges are among 23 allegations against Jason Lowe.

Lowe has been accused of assaulting and raping a woman on four occasions.

The 38-year-old, of Hawick, is also charged with three counts of assault and abduction.

Other alleged offences he faces include sexual assault, assault, breach of the peace, malicious damage and theft, assaulting a child, behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, theft, theft of a motor vehicle, stalking, attempting to pervert the course of justice, breach of bail, being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and possession of a controlled drug.

In addition, Lowe is accused of three charges of assault to injury.

He previously pleaded not guilty to all those charges at the High Court in Edinburgh.
