Borders police probe £3,000 raid on Jedburgh bus company

POLICE today issued a plea for help after raiders snatched a safe and its contents from the headquarters of bus company Munro’s of Jedburgh, writes Bob Burgess.

Officers confirmed the thieves escaped with around £3,000.

Raiders struck at the company’s Oakvale Garage in Jedburgh’s Bongate between 11.30pm on Wednesday and 4.45am on the Thursday.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police at Hawick said: “Anyone who was in the area of the garage or the surrounding area and remembers seeing anything suspicious is asked to contact us.

“Anyone with information in relation to this crime is also asked to make contact.”
