Appeal for information launched after hit and run collision on A7

An investiagation has been launched after a pedestrian was almost struck by a car during a hit and run collision in Galashiels.

The incident happened on the A7 at High Buckholmside at 7.40pm on Friday, November 15, and left one other vehicle damaged.

Debris suggests the car involved, which didn’t stop and continued onwards into Galashiels town centre, was a small dark grey metallic coloured Ford.

Police constable Murray said: “This collision could have easily resulted in the pedestrian sustaining significant injury, yet the driver failed to stop, check on their well-being or indeed provide their details.

“We would urge other motorists who were in the area at that time and witnessed what happened, or can help us identify the motorist and vehicle involved, to contact police immediately. In particular, if you believe you have any relevant dash-cam footage of this incident, then please get in touch.”
