37-year-old jailed over break-in at Boots in Kelso to steal drugs

A burglar has been jailed for staging a break-in at a Kelso shop to steal prescription drugs.

Roderick Kennedy, 37, was sentenced to 16 months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty on indictment at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today, June 2, to a charge of theft by housebreaking at the Boots pharmacy in Kelso Square on Tuesday, April 7.

Kennedy, of Roxburgh Street in Kelso, had his prison sentence backdated to Thursday, April 9, that being when he was first remanded in custody in connection with the break-in.
