In preparation for the beginning of the 2015 Trimontium museum season, the Synton hoard of 228 silver denarii returned from its winter break in Hawick, to be joined this week by the Kippielaw hoard of 78 similar denarii on loan from the National Museums for two years.
The Lockie bronze collection is also on display.
Easter Monday sees Ian Skinner taking the Old Melrose Walk at 1.30pm, and the first Trimontium Walk is on April 9 at 1.30pm from the museum. The trust played host to a visiting archaeologist from Liverpool, who was checking on the glassware found at Trimontium on which she is writing a monograph to be published later this year.
