PEEBLES’ own Esther Swift returns to the Eastgate Theatre next Thursday, July 28 with her harp quartet Clouds.
Now a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music after studying under Eira Lynn Jones, Esther is also a member of Camerata Scotland.
She has so far performed in the Royal Albert Hall, The Queens Hall and The Glasgow Concert Hall, as well as other venues across Britain and Europe.
And Swift has played with the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, Manchester Camerata, Halle and the Lincoln Chamber Orchestra.
She has recently composed Clouds – featuring Rebecca Mills, Angelina Warburton and Elfair Grug (pictured below) – which has five movements and features lots of improvisation and a poem, sung by Esther and written by her father, Robert.
Her other projects include being a member of Twelfth Day, who took part in this year’s Celtic Connections and Toulouse Folk Festival.
Tickets for Clouds are priced at £10 and available from 01721 725777. The show starts at 7.30pm.
