The Clef Club’s season ended with a short AGM followed by a variety of musical items.
Linda Gray opened on the piano with Pelagia’s Song from Stephen Warbeck’s music for the film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.
Then Molly Pringle (piano), Robert Fraser (violin) and Roger Clarke (cello) played the second movement of Mendelssohn’s Trio Op 49.
Next, Sue Wilson performed the Prelude from Bach’s second English suite, a demanding work for keyboard with no let-up in the cascades of notes.
Finally, Heidi Goodship played Debussy’s solo flute piece Syrinx, an intriguing work moving unexpectedly among the keys. Molly returned to accompany Heidi in the Minuet from Bizet’s L’Arlesienne, and the jazz-like The Little Negro by Debussy.
